Students were accompanied by tow engineers/ Mohamed El Feefy and Ismaeel Khwagy who are specialist in desalination process in the station. They introduced a detailed explanation of all the station components from the beginning of the water intake from the sea and the various stages of water purification processes. A brief Explanation for the water pumps and their types and desalination units. They made a detailed explanation of the Multi Stage Flashing (MSF) desalination process and its theory of work which is identical to the theoretical study in the power Plants and desalination course that has had an effective impact on the gained information for students. Students also watched all the power Plant components of boilers, burners and turbines Accompanied with engineer/ Essam Ali who is a specialist in thermal processes in the station. He explained a detailed explanation of the theory of work of each component. Students also, watched the control room of the plant and listen to a detailed Explanation of all details on the plant.
Under the Academic scientific activity for mechanical engineering department in Engineering college , organized, a seminar  titled "Carbon Emission and Its Control" for faculty members Dated 23/3/2017 presented by Dr. Vineet Tirth . The following is scientific content summery of the training course: Global warming is a major reason for climate change which is caused mainly by emission of Green House Gases (GHGs). The global warming potential of all GHGs may be calculated in terms of CO2 equivalent using software tools as well as by measurement. To reduce carbon emissions, the approach is either to control it by high efficiency systems, by capturing CO2 and disposing it deep inside the ocean or underground and by neutralizing it using various techniques including Algae Photo Bio-Reactors, by reacting it with hydrogen to form hydrocarbon fuels etc.

Under the scientific  activity in Engineering college , the Mechanical Engineering Department organized  a seminar  titled “Reverse Osmosis Desalination Module – Three Dimensional, Transient Analysis” presented by Dr. Ali Anqi where faculty and students attended . Below, is scientific content summery of the seminar: The desalination process using reverse osmosis membrane is used around the globe to produce fresh water. The presentation discussed simulations to examine steady and transient nature of the flow inside a three dimensional desalination module containing cylindrical spacers. Navier-Stokes and mass transport equations are solved to determine the flow and concentration field in the feed channel for Reynolds number of 800. The spiral wound membrane is treated as a functional surface where the solution-diffusion model is applied. The flow and the concentration field are strongly three dimensional and transient in nature. The presenter demonstrated that the momentum mixing induced by the presence of spacers enhances the flux performance of the membrane. It is also shown that transient effects and the secondary flows induced by three dimensional flow transitions are mitigating the concentration polarization and fouling/scaling that occurs along the surface of the membrane.
Under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Dr Ibrahim Falqi and the presence of Vice Dean for Quality and Developpment, Dr Ali Al-Khozaim, and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr Mohammed Khaloufa, and a group of faculty members, the innovation and talent unit has been launched.
