Despite the merits of hybrid systems, power losses in generation, transmission, and distribution remain a critical concern, particularly in geographically dispersed networks such as Saudi Arabia’s western and northern provinces. Losses arise from multiple sources: (a) conversion losses in PV inverters and wind generators, (b) ohmic losses in cables and transformers due to long transmission distances, and (c) mismatch and curtailment losses under fluctuating load conditions. In a typical medium-voltage network, technical losses can reach 8 –12 % of generated energy, directly impacting system efficiency and operational economics. Therefore, loss mitigation techniques encompassing optimal power flow control, voltage regulation, reactive power compensation, and intelligent scheduling form a vital component of hybrid system design.

We cordially invite all faculty members and students to attend this important event. The defense will take place on Wednesdayday, April. 22, 2026, at 02:00 PM. in room B15-3-2-012 at the College of Engineering, University City of Fara’a. Your presence and participation will not only support Khalid Saad but also foster engaging academic discussion.

We look forward to seeing you there!
