This study presents the design, simulation, and performance analysis of an off-grid photovoltaic (PV) power system in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The design and simulation were conducted using MATLAB/Simulink for four representative months (January, April, July, and October), corresponding to the four seasons, in order to evaluate the effect of seasonal variations on system performance. The study focuses on how Abha’s climatic conditions influence the operational behavior and efficiency of the PV system. The findings highlight the importance of incorporating accurate local climate data when designing standalone PV systems to ensure optimal performance and system reliability.
