Al and Digital Twins for Energy and Smart Infrastructure

Al and Digital Twins for Energy and Smart Infrastructure

B15-2-012

Digital Twins provide continuously synchronized virtual representations of physical assets and systems, while AI adds the ability to analyze data, forecast future conditions, detect anomalies, and recommend actions. In energy systems, these capabilities support predictive maintenance, renewable-energy forecasting, grid monitoring, demand response, and asset optimization.

For smart infrastructure, AI-enabled Digital Twins can improve building energy management, water-network monitoring, transportation planning, EV infrastructure, and city-scale simulations. Successful deployment requires reliable sensor data, edge and cloud computing, open standards, cybersecurity, privacy protection, human oversight, and a phased implementation approach beginning with focused pilot projects.

Overall, the presentation shows how integrated AI and Digital Twins can move infrastructure from reactive maintenance toward proactive operations, resulting in safer systems, lower costs, and faster decisions.
