The College of Engineering is pleased to announce the upcoming thesis defense of Mr. Abdulmohsen Hassan AlQahtani, a dedicated graduate student specializing in power systems and renewable energy. Mr. AlQahtani's research centers on the critical topic of “Sensitivity & Stability of Renewable Energy in Power Grids,” an area of increasing importance as the world shifts towards sustainable energy sources. His study delves into the dynamic interactions between solar and wind energy inputs and the overall stability of electrical grids, addressing key challenges such as fluctuation management, system resilience, and the integration of variable renewable resources into existing power infrastructure.

Throughout his research, Abdulmohsen has employed advanced analytical tools and simulation models to evaluate the impact of renewable energy variability on grid stability. His work aims to identify optimal strategies for maintaining reliable power supply while accommodating the intermittent nature of renewable sources. The findings of his thesis contribute valuable insights to the ongoing efforts of scientists and engineers striving to ensure that the transition to clean energy is both safe and efficient, supporting the development of resilient and flexible power systems capable of meeting future demands.

The thesis defense is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 2025, at 11:50 AM. It will be held in room B15-3-2-012 at the College of Engineering, located within the University City of Fara’a. The college invites faculty members, students, and stakeholders from the energy sector to attend and support Mr. AlQahtani as he presents his research findings and engages in scholarly discussion. This event underscores the college’s commitment to fostering innovative research that addresses the pressing challenges of sustainable energy integration and grid stability.
