COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
Administered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, this postgraduate program aims to meet the standards of leading international and Saudi universities. It equips students with the knowledge and skills required to develop, manage, and innovate in the field of mechanical engineering. Designed in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030, the program prepares engineers and researchers in advanced mechanical engineering fields.
King Khalid University, represented by the College of Engineering, signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday, Monday, with the Saudi Amateur Radio Society (SARS), in the University City of Al-Qara’a.
The faculty of engineering started with six departments: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Architecture. The authorized body i.e. MoHE (private institutions and Council of Higher Education for public institutions) has approved the all aforesaid programs via. MoHE/9683 dated 05/08/1426. Until the 1st Semester of 2007 the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering programs resided in the Department of Civil Engineering. The first set of students in Civil Engineering graduated in 2012.
The Electrical Engineering Department is one of six different departments in the College of Engineering in King Khalid University. The Electrical Engineering Department offers a single major track program “Bachelor in Electrical Engineering". The program approved by the authorized body (by MoE) via. MoHE/9683 on 05/08/1426. The program duration is five years divided into ten levels (semesters). The first and second levels are considered as preparatory year program prior to core academics in the department.
The Industrial Engineering Department in College of Engineering offers a single major track program “Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering" is a branch of engineering which deals with the optimization of complex processes, systems or organizations. Program mainly works to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, man-hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. The program duration is five years divided into ten levels (semesters).
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been blessed by vast natural resources and these resources have been utilized for the progress of the country and welfare of its people. The proper utilization of these natural resources led to the opening of Chemical Engineering under College of Engineering (COE) at King Khalid University (KKU). The Chemical Engineering Department was established in year 2007 in Abha, with the objective of graduating students having expertise in all the aspects of Chemical Engineering.
Self-service, is a number of service offered by the Deanship of Faculty Members and Employee Affairs to all university employees , such as (salary inquiries - leave request - request for experience certificate - request for external scholarship).
The authorized body i.e. MoHE (private institutions and Council of Higher Education for public institutions) has approved Civil Engineering program via. MoHE/9683 dated 05/08/1426. Since 1st Semester of 2007 the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program is running in the Department of Civil Engineering. The first batch of students in Civil Engineering graduated in 2012. The needs of the industry and the university’s ability to respond to the needs have helped shape the growth of the programs offered by the department.
The Student Activities Unit at the College of Engineering concludes the student activity for the first semester of the year 1444 with more than five activities outside the classroom as shown in the report of the conclusion of the activities.
