Mission, Vision, Goals, and Learning Outcomes

1. Program Vision:

Achieving leadership in the field of Safety and Fire Protection Engineering in the filed of education, scientific research, and rendering community services in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

2. Program Mission:

Build within students a solid foundation in Safety and Fire Protection expands the reasoning, communication, and problem-solving abilities, and prepare graduates who have the motivation and ability for lifelong growth in their professional careers and addresses the evolving needs of industry and society.

3. Program Goals:

The overall program goal is to provide the highest quality of academically well-trained and competent safety practitioners for society and industries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), graduates of the Safety and Fire Protection Engineering will be able to:

Apply principles of transformational leadership to negotiate, mentor, motivate, and lead others toward a shared and ethical organizational vision or goal.

PEO 2

Apply knowledge of leadership, change, business modes, organizational issues, and regulations to ensure organizational effectiveness, resulting in the improvement of emergency services.

PEO 3

Utilize the methods and resources of research, science, and technology to effectively manage emergency services.

PEO 4

Utilize appropriate communication strategies and methods to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.

PEO 5

Utilize appropriate assessment and planning skills to improve organization and community risk management for emergency services.

 

The mission of the College of Engineering emphasizes the delivery of high-quality educational programs that produce skilled professionals aligned with the strategic workforce needs of the Southern Province (Aseer), the Kingdom. In addition, to create a teaching and learning environment that inspires leadership, high standards and values, quality, creativity, teamwork, life-long learning, and a strong sense of professional role in the future. In the same time, the mission of the College of Engineering emphasizes excellence in innovative Engineering Education, and ethical research and quality.

 

This program has very important roles in:

  1. Serving as an Engineering Education Resource to related Safety and Fire Protection Engineering professions and the community and organizations involved in Saudi's industrial organizations.
  2. Promoting Continuing Professional Development to maintain and improve the competency of all professionals engaged in Safety and Fire Protection Engineering.

 

By combining teaching, health care, research, and community service, the program enhances the university's mission of offering quality education for students, conducting scientific research, and serving the local community. The program's intercultural focus contributes to the global outreach of the university.
