The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, in the presence of the Head of the Department of Architecture and Planning and a number of teachers and students of the department, attended two lectures at the invitation of the Department of Mathematics at King Khalid University.
The first lecture entitled "Meshes in Architecture" was presented by Professor "Helmut Pottmann", the second lecture, entitled "Discrete Conformal Mapping and Riemann Surfaces Theory and Applications", was presented by Professor Alexander Bobenko. Both professors are visiting professors of KAUST.
These two lectures were of particular importance to the Department of Architecture and Planning at the University because of their role in diversifying and developing the design capabilities of their ideas and creative design alternatives. On the sidelines of the lectures, the two guests exchanged views on the possibility of benefiting from their expertise in providing the Department of Architecture and Planning with information and ideas that will develop the architectural mathematics course presented in the plan to the Department of Architecture and Planning.
